Introducing the New Larson Juhl Rococo Collection: Classical Elegance for Your Home

Ornate, L-shaped frame corners in various metallic shades arranged on a dark wood surface, creating a patterned visual effect.
Rococo Range of Mouldings New to Have it Framed

Here at Have it Framed, we are always on the lookout for new moulding designs that will get our Edinburgh customers excited. We love finding frames that tell a story, and our latest arrival does exactly that.

We are delighted to announce that we are now stocking the distinctive Larson Juhl Rococo picture frame moulding.

A Nod to European History

If you are looking to add a touch of drama and history to your walls, this collection is the perfect choice. Drawing inspiration from the Rococo era—famous for its ornamental and theatrical style—this range features a beautiful, intricate swirling pattern that evokes classical European elegance.

What makes this moulding truly special is the finish. Each profile features a metallic foil that has been purposefully washed to create a softly aged, oxidised appearance. It isn’t "shiny and new"; rather, it has a beautifully weathered surface that enhances the intricate detailing. It offers that sophisticated blend of decorative richness and antique allure that looks right at home in both traditional Edinburgh tenements and modern spaces seeking a bold contrast.

Versatility in Design

The collection comes in two distinct profiles, allowing for plenty of creativity in how we design your frame package:

  • The Smaller Profile: This is incredibly versatile. It works beautifully as a refined stand-alone moulding for smaller artworks, adding detail without overwhelming the piece. Alternatively, we can use it as a sleek slip inside a larger frame to add a layer of texture.

  • The Larger Profile: If you want a confident, sculptural presence, this is the one. It is ideal for framing larger works and stands out on its own as a statement piece.

For a truly gallery-quality presentation, we can even pair the larger profile with the smaller one (or a contrasting slip) to create a stunning, layered effect.

Beauty Meets Preservation

While these frames look beautifully antique, our framing methods are strictly modern. As proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, we can use these new mouldings while adhering to the highest standards of conservation.

Whether you have a sentimental family heirloom that requires Level 2 (High Level) protection with conservation materials to preserve it for future generations , or a decorative print where Level 3 (Mid Level) framing is perfect for visual enhancement, this Rococo range is suitable for the job. We ensure that even with ornate mouldings, the rebate is deep enough to hold and support the whole package of glazing and mountboard securely.

Pop into the Workshop

Photos rarely do justice to the texture and metallic finish of these frames. You really need to see how the light catches the "oxidised" foil in person.

If you have a piece of art, a mirror, or a photo that needs a lift, book an appointment and bring it down to the shop. We’d love to show you how the new Rococo collection could transform it.
